We all want a flat and sexy stomach. However, from observing my own clients at the gym, it is one of the hardest things in the world to achieve. Knowing how to lose belly fat really comes down to a person’s knowledge of nutrition, and not how many crunches they can do (that’s not to say that crunches don’t have their place). In this article, I will be showing you 3 unique foods that will help you achieve that flat stomach that we all want and crave.

1 – Coconut Oil – This is in my opinion, the best alternative cooking oil that you will ever find. It is packed with healthy fats (MCFAs), as opposed to trans fats, which means that your body uses these fats for energy, instead of storing them as additional body fat. Because of this abundance of healthy fats, coconut oil will increase metabolism and has even been shown to increase the rate and effectiveness of food digestion. These two factors are of extreme importance when trying to burn away unwanted body fat. Add the final bonus of this oil also boosting the body’s immunity and you will agree that it should definitely be on your shopping list.

2 – Cacao – Think of this as being an ancient, yet healthy chocolate. The Cacao bean is commonly ground into fine powder, which will be the form it usually comes in at your local health store. However, if you can get your hands on the ‘bean’ itself, this is even better. The reason why this little super food is so good at burning fat is because it is the highest natural source of Magnesium, Chromium and Iron in the world. It is also very high in Zinc, Copper and Manganese. All of these minerals help to keep the body in peak health and, best of all, will boost your natural metabolism. Just remember, whatever form it is in when you buy it, it has to be raw.

3 – Pecans – I’m probably starting to sound like a broken record talking about healthy fats by now, but pecan nuts are absolutely packed with the stuff. All you have to do is squeeze them and you can see the fats oozing out. On top of everything, they taste great. I usually recommend that people eat pecans as a snack between meals, as they will help to keep your body in a ‘fat burning zone’ as well as providing tons of energy.
