Everybody knows that nutrition is the number one key to losing belly fat. The close second to nutrition is consistently following a exercise routine. There are many exercises to slim which are fun and creative. These exercises not only drop the pounds and fat, but also build a healthy heart.

I was recently visiting Fitness.com and they had an 8 minute video in which celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson showed exercises to perform to help you achieve your goals. Some of the exercises I had seen; some I have not. They all looked great to me since I love trying out new exercises anyway! If you are looking to tone your muscles, lose the fat and weight for good, with the bonus of getting  heart-healthy heart, you will love Gunnar’s routine!

Gunner highlighed some excellent exercise which slim. I know sometimes life gets busy, but I also strongly feel that if you are committed to acheiving your weight and fat loss goals, you will find the time to do what needs to be done. If you just did 2-3 sets of the exercises Gunnear exercises 2-3 times per week, I think the excess weight and fat will just drop off. Why not give it a shot? Your body and heart will thank you for it!

Losing belly fat is a major concern for many of us and most do not know how to do it. The best way is to exercise regularly and in this article we will look at some of the most suitable exercises to lose belly fat.

Exercises to Lose Belly Fat

Bicycle Exercise

Bicycle exercise is known to be an excellent technique of losing belly fat. The method involves getting in supine position keeping both hands on back of the head. Get knees closer to chest simultaneously while you lift your shoulders from the floor.

Gradually get the right elbow close to the left knee and at the same time move the right leg so that it straightens. Do the same for the other side as well so that it becomes like a pedaling motion. Try to do at least three sets with twelve to sixteen repetitions every day to achieve maximum benefits.

Leg Raise – Captain’s Chair

You will need captain’s chair for performing this routine and rack having padded arms so that your legs can hang freely as you may have seen in many of the health clubs. To start the exercise, stand up on the chair & grip both the hand holds. Raise knees up to your chest so that the abs are contracted and then bring the knees down. Repeat the same steps in three sets with each set have about fifteen repetitions.

Ball Crunch

You will require an exercise ball for this belly fat reduction routine. The routine is such that abdomen exerts more but other body parts are also required during the exercise. First you will have to lie over the ball on your back & keep the hands behind head.

Next you will have to contract abs for lifting torso from ball while at the same time stabilize the ball during the curling up routine. Finally you will lower down for stretching your abs and this exercise is to be done three times having fifteen repetitions in each of the three sets.

Leg Crunch

This is vertical leg crunch where you lie down on floor with legs pointing straight up towards the roof, keep the knees crossed & support your head by keeping the hands beneath it. Start to lift shoulders from floor so that the abs is contracted while keeping the legs totally fixed. Perform this exercise on a daily basis the do it the same number of times as the ball crunch exercise.

Long Arm Crunch

For this exercise you will have to lie down and extend your both arms fully straight behind and at the same time keep them clasped as well as close to the ears. Now gradually contract your abs & start lifting your shoulders from floor so that arms remain straight. You will have to do this exercise in three sets of fifteen repetitions on a daily basis to get maximum results.

Thus we can conclude by saying that you can expect very good results by doing these exercises on a regular basis and lose belly fat quickly & easily.

How to Lose Baby Belly at Home by Following The Weight Maintenance Predictors:13 Behaviors and Attitudes That Keep Fat Off Forever

One of my favortite weight loss experts I enjoy folloiwng is Tom Venuto, author of “Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle.” If your desire is how to lose the baby belly at home, Tom’s blog and book has a wealth of information which can help you achieve your goals.

He sent out a recent article which covered 13 behaviors and attitudes that not only help a person lose the weight and fat, but also keep it off forever. I thought I’d share some excerpts with you. The Weight Maintenance Predictors: 13 Behaviors and Attitudes That Keep Fat Off Forever By Tom Venuto

This is probably the best check-list of weight maintenance advice I have come across this year – if not ever.

 

This is straight from peer-reviewed obesity research journals, not from pop fitness websites, so you can trust that this advice is rock solid and true.

The data came from obesity researchers at the University of Surrey (UK). They didn’t conduct a new study, however – they did an exhaustive review of 152 other studies (Basically, ALL the major research that’s ever been done on weight maintenance).

What I’ve done is to summarize the most important weight maintenance factors for you (psychological traits and physical behaviors) and then translate that into a lesson or actionable step.

The more of these strategies you use, the more likely you’ll be not only to lose fat, but to keep it off for good. A person who is 13 for 13 (or even close to it) is simply NEVER going to have a weight problem.

Self-monitoring

In the words of the authors, tracking calories eaten, workouts performed, body weight change, progress achieved, and so on, are “cardinal behaviors of successful weight maintainers.” Maintainers monitor everything. They are journalers, trackers, and counters. Remember, you can’t improve it if you’re not even measuring it.

Self-responsibility / Internal locus of control

People who attribute (blame) their body fat on medical conditions are LESS successful at maintenance. This is most likely because they don’t believe they’re in control of their results. A person with an internal locus of control believes that outcomes are under their own control. A person with an external locus of control believes outcomes are controlled by outside forces such as environment, genes or chance. High internal locus of control strongly predicts successful fat loss and long term maintenance.

Self-motivation

External motivation is helpful, but no motivation is better than self motivation. Research confirms that being SELF motivated predicts successful weight loss from both exercise and diet programs.

Self motivation vacillates a lot for most people and the research has found two major reasons why: (1) Small lapses in compliance cause a drop in motivation, and (2) self criticism causes a drop in motivation. Successful maintainers are kind to themselves, they avoid critical self-talk, and they understand that they’re going to have lapses, they simply bounce back quickly.

Get Rid of Baby Belly Fat with These Simple Flat Abs Receipes

When your goal is to get rid of the baby belly fat, then having some cool flat ab meals in your recipe box is necessary! I was recently vising, Fitness Magazine’s online site and found the perfect link where listed was “Fat-Fighting Meals: 7 Flat-Belly Dinner Recipes”.

The receipes looked pretty good, so I thought I’d share at least one with you. You can look at more by visisting the site listed below.

The secret to flat abs? Foods like whole grains, low-fat dairy, and lean protein, which curb hunger, boost your calorie burn, and prevent belly bloat. We’ve combined these slimming ingredients into a week’s worth of delicious dinners.
Steak-and-Pepper Tacos
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 25 minutes

Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients

1 pound flank or hanger steak
Juice of 1 lime, plus lime wedges for serving
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon mild chili powder
3 teaspoons vegetable oil
1/2 red onion, sliced
3 bell peppers, 1 each red, yellow, and orange, thinly sliced
1/2 cup fresh or frozen corn kernels
8 small corn tortillas, warmed
1/2 avocado, sliced
1/4 cup grated low-fat Monterey Jack
1/4 cup salsa verde or 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons sliced pickled jalapenos
Reduced-fat sour cream (optional)

Directions
1. Marinate the steak in the lime juice, salt, garlic, and chili powder in a sealed plastic bag for 20 to 30 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat for 5 minutes. Add 2 teaspoons of the vegetable oil to the pan. Add the red onion and bell peppers; cook, tossing frequently, for 5 minutes. Add the corn and continue to cook until the peppers are charred and soft, about 3 more minutes. Transfer the vegetables to a bowl and keep warm.

3. Wipe the skillet with a paper towel and heat for another minute. Add the remaining teaspoon of vegetable oil. Remove the steak from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels. Lay the steak in the pan, reduce heat to medium-high, and cook about 8 minutes for medium-rare, turning once halfway through. Transfer to a board and let rest for 5 minutes.

4. Slice the steak across the grain and arrange on a platter with the peppers and lime wedges. Make tacos with the warm tortillas, avocado, Monterey Jack, salsa, jalapenos and, if desired, sour cream.

Nutrition facts per serving: 416 calories, 32g protein, 38g carbohydrate, 16g fat (4.3g saturated), 7g fiber

Get Rid of Baby Belly Fat with These 7 Tips to Boost Metabolism

Every lady knows that getting rid of baby belly fat can be a challenge! Most ladies would love to know how to boost their metabolism so they can get 6 pack abs plus lose the excess weight and body fat.

The good news is that there are some easy things you can do each day to achieve this. On a recent Dr. Oz show, Dr. Oz discussed 7 quick ways to boost your metabolism with his 7 Day Miracle Meal Plan. What he shared was very simple; any of us could it. I thought I’d share with you his metabolism boosting tips.

Tip #1: Check Metabolic Rate. It is important to know how many calories you are burning each day. This is the amount of calories you can eat before starting to gain weight. You can find a calculator for this at http://www.doctoroz.com. Some of you also may have tools such as the “Bodybugg” which automatically keeps track of how many calories your body burns each day. If you have the funds for it, the Bodybugg is a great tool.

Tip #2: Cut 100 calories each day. Now that you know what your metabolic rate is, work on cutting just 100 calories per day from your meals. This will be enough to trick your metabolism into a fat burning machine plus keep it from going into the starvation mode. The starvation mode occurs when the body thinks the caloric intake is too low. This results in it slowing down. You want to avoid this at all costs! Once your body becomes use to this, you can work on cutting your caloric rate by 15-20% for a few days each week. This will really send your body into a fat burning frenzy!

Tip #3: Eat enough protein each day. Protein helps to build up your lean muscle mass. The more lean muscle mass you have, the more calories your body will burn. Dr. Oz recommended eating protein daily and fish 2-3 times per week.

Tip #4: Eat every 3 hours. Along with your regular meals, begin to work on adding some healthy snacks. This will keep you from getting hungry. A healthy snacks suggestion from Dr. Oz included pistachios with dried apricots. Other healthy snack ideas can be peanut butter on celery sticks, apples with string cheese, etc. No cookies and chips please! Remember, you are trying to get rid of the baby belly fat!

Tip #5: Drink 3 iced drinks a day. No, this doesn’t mean run off to Starbuck’s to get an iced Mocha. It means to add ice to water, tea, etc. This is one of the easiest things you can do to speed up your metabolism and promote weight and fat loss.

Tip #6: Take 12 mg of Zinc a day.   Zinc increases Leptin in your body which in turns decreases appetite. You can go to your local health store to get a bottle at very low cost.

Tip #7: Exercise in bursts. More and more research shows how interval training turns your body into a fat burning furnace. This means exercising at a moderate pace and every couple of minutes increasing the intensity. Aim to do this during 2-3 workouts each week. If you are familiar with Beachbody.com, there are a number of programs they have which promote this type of training (e.g. Turbo Fire, Insanity, etc.). You can also do this if you are jogging, walking outside, walking on the treadmill, etc. You are exercising right? If not, now’s the time to start!

Dr. Oz also recommends a couple of really inexpensive supplements you can use to help keep your metabolism burning fiercely.  Here are a couple of metabolism boosters under $20:

-White Bean Extract: this awesome supplement blocks starch from being absorbed into your body. The end result is your body will not turn the food you are eating into fat. It’s best to take one pill a day before each high carbohydrate/starchy meal.

Get enough L-Argine. This supplement costs about $10 for 100 capsules. It is a powerful muscle building block. Aim to take one capsule a day.

Eat pickled peppers. I know, this sounds strange. You can just pick up a bottle of these at any grocery store for about $2. What happens is that the vinegar in the peppers prevents the storage of fat. You can add them to meals; eat on your salads, etc.

Getting rid of the baby belly fat now seems so much easier doesn’t it? All you have to do is follow Dr. Oz’s super easy weight and fat loss tips. Your metabolism will be humming along in no time!
